We used three titles to measure the effect of storage performance in games: Left 4 Dead, Quake 4, and FarCry 2.
We saw no significant increase or decrease in performance when using different storage methods in Left 4 Dead. A 1-2 FPS difference is unnoticeable at best.
On FarCry 2, the results shows no significant difference on ADATA S592. On all other SSD, the frame rate is higher.
We still use the rather aged Quake 4 because this particular title is especially sensitive to changes in overall system performance. However, this seems not to be the case here. Storage performance difference does not bring about some significant changes.
