MSI Master Overclocking Arena 2010: We Have A Winner!
Everything that can go wrong will eventually go wrong, but that did not stop our Indonesian overclockers from trying ever harder to reach for the top. Ekky, who scored the fastest Super PI calculation in the first stage, almost destroyed his rig when he accidentally poured water all over it. Fortunately, he acted fast and successfully dries his motherboard in time to catch up with the others in the 3D Mark Vantage session. Thanks to the Ekky’s years of experience, the water didn’t even damage his motherboard.
Patar, the one guy who came in second in the Super PI calculation, took over the lead in this second round, submitting his first score barely a few minutes after the second round started. Scoring more than 7500 points, Patar left the competition in the dust. No body could keep up with him, at least until before the winner’s announcement. Alva Jonathan, one of the MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) 2010 jurors, kept running around the arena. “Don’t give up, there is still time!” Shouted Alva. The overclockers’ spirits are awakened by his words. Like a cornered jackal, they did their best to find a way out from each of their troubles.
Finally, their time is up. The contestants had done their best; it was time to leave the rest to God and the board of jurors. All ten overclockers were summoned to the stage. Mr. Ian, Director of PT Alfa Artha Andaya, distributor of MSI products in Indonesia, along with Ms. Wei Tao, a representative from MSI’s headquarters in Taiwan, awarded a certificate of achievement for each of them. Then, it’s the moment of truth.
After a final calculation of points, Ekky and Hendra Wijaya came out in the third and fourth place. Each scored 140,30% and 136,84%, respectively. Both of them earned US$ 1.100 worth of prizes in the form of computer products, along with a bronze medal. Hendra Masli, who scored 142,15% emerged as the runner up, earning Rp. 1 million in cash, a collection of prize gifts worth US$ 1.100, and a silver medal.
The champion’s title is claimed by Patar. He is the winner of MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) 2010 Indonesia Region who will be representing his country in the MOA 2010 Global Grand Final in Taipei. He was also awarded with US$ 1.500 worth of computer products, along with Rp 2 million in cash and a gold medal. Congratulations Patar!
Now, how would he fare against overclockers from all over the world in the grand final? Let us all, fellow Indonesians, wish him the best of luck, for he will carry the nation’s name on his shoulders. We will see how it goes.
