Gigabyte GV-N460OC-768I – Ultra Durable with Windforce 2X

Up to this point, it doesn’t surprise us if Gigabyte decided to come up with a custom variant of the GTX 460, since every other graphics card manufacturers are doing just the same. Custom PCB, enhanced components, non-reference HSF, each GeForce GTX 460 looks different compared to one another. Of course, Gigabyte has come forward with their own solution to get ahead of the competition.

The Gigabyte GV-N460OC-768I, a graphics card based on the 768 MB version of GeForce GTX 460, implements Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable technology, made famous by their relatively dependable motherboard products. Aside from that, it is also equipped with a custom cooler that incorporates two heatpipes along with two large fans: the Windforce 2X. The cooler looks convincing, to say the least. Let’s take a look at the technical specification.

As its name suggests, the Gigabyte GV-N460OC-768I is based on the 768 MB version of NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 460. It comes pre-overclocked, with the GPU clocked 40 MHz higher than NVIDIA’s reference specs. The shader clock is also increased by 80 MHz, since it is linked to the core frequency.

Graphics Card

Now this is how the graphics card looks like from the topside. The unmistakable Windforce 2X HSF covers most of the board layout, which contributes to its striking overall appearance. Aside from the looks, it is also constructed using Gigabyte’s usual fare of high quality materials, such as the 2oz Copper PCB, 1st Tier Memory chips, Japanese Solid Capacitors, Ferrite Core Chokes, and Low RDS (on) Mosfet.
