[PR] AMD FirePro from SAPPHIRE Takes the Performance Crown on SPECviewperf®12: The New Industry Standard Benchmark for Professional Graphics

While the performance of gaming graphics card is often tested using 3DMark, for professional graphicscards SPECviewperf^®gives a much better indication of real world performance. SPECviewperf^®, developed by the Standard Performance Evaluation company, was created to accurately display the performance of professional graphics cards by testing them with a range of different professional graphics applications.SPECviewperf^®12,released on December 18, 2013, is the latest version of this tool. SPEC Viewperf12 has been completely written from scratch. It is now an open platform with zero vendor-specific code and no hidden optimizations.

The test results presented below show that AMD FirePro graphics from SAPPHIRE outperform competing products from nVidia in all three performance categories mid-high, mainstream and entry level products when measured using the new SPECviewperf®12. These figures are a testimony to the work of the AMD FirePro team in working directly with ISVs to develop optimizations which ensure ensure winning performance and reliability in real-world applications for end users.

(Fig.1) AMD FirePro has won all 8 test items in the entry-level professional test comparison and even displayed as much as 3.6 times better performance under the MAYA test.

(Fig 2) In the mid-range mainstream product tests, AMD Firepro also comprehensively defeated all competitors; it can be seen from the figure that AMD FirePro has as much as 2.3 times better performance than the competition under SNX.

From these test results, we can see that under the latest version of SPECviewperf^®12, the AMD FireProarchitecture was able to easily defeat the competitors whether it was in the mid to high, mainstream or entry levels.
