<p>Saat ini AMD telah merilis graphics card DirectX 11 generasi kedua mereka yaitu AMD seri HD 6000. Graphics card AMD seri HD 6000 menjadi graphics card penerus generasi sebelumnya yaitu seri HD 5000. Terdapat tiga tipe graphics card AMD seri HD 6000 dengan harga di bawah 1 juta rupiah. <p>NVIDIA GT 430 dipersenjatai chip GF108 yang merupakan turunan dari chip GF100. Chip GF108 dipersenjatai arsitektur Fermi generasi pertama. Selama ini, arsitektur Fermi terkenal akan ketangguhannya saat menjalankan aplikasi grafis maupun game berbasis DirectX 11. Begitu juga untuk aplikasi atau game berbasis DirectX 9 maupun DirectX 10. NVIDIA menggunakan proses fabrikasi 40 nm untuk chip GF108. Penggunaan proses fabrikasi yang lebih kecil dibandingkan graphics card NVIDIA generasi sebelumnya membuat chip GF108 mengonsumsi daya sekaligus memiliki temperatur kerja lebih rendah.</p>

Seperti terlihat pada tabel, NVIDIA GT 430 dilengkapi clock core sebesar 700 MHz, shader clock sebesar 1400 MHz, memori clock sebesar 1800 MHz serta CUDA Cores (Stream Processor) sebanyak 96 unit. NVIDIA GT 430 menggunakan memori GDDR3 berukuran 1GB dengan bandwidth memori sebesar 128-bit.</p>

The new card is aimed at the entry level segment of the market, set to replace the GT 430. If you’ve known the latter already, you will probably be interested to learn of the differences between the two. To see where the GT 440 sits among its peers from NVIDIA, let’s take a look at the specification table below.</p>

<p>The GeForce GT 440 comes in several different variants, they are:</p>
<h4>GeForce GT 440 512 MB GDDR5</h4>

<p>This is a GT 440 model with <strong>512 MB of 128-bit GDDR5 memory</strong> which, in our opinion, should be the enough for entry-level gaming since the graphics card likely won’t be able to handle resolutions above 1360&#215;768 anyway. Unfortunately, the card uses a full-height PCB board, so it might be unsuitable for a low profile HTPC/ Mini PC.</p>
<h4>GeForce GT 440 1GB GDDR3</h4>

<p>There is also a 1-GB variant of the GT 440, but the memory is of the slower GDDR3 type like the one used on its predecessor, the GT 430. The specifications between these two cards, the GT 430 and GT 440, are also similar with the only difference being their operating frequencies. GT 440’s core and memory are clocked slightly higher at <strong> 810/3600 MHz</strong>, respectively.Our GT 440 sample from MSI is based on this variant.</p>

<p>Good news is, some AIB vendors have apparently decided to produce GT 440 cards in low-profile/ half board form factor like the GT 430 card pictured above. We have yet to hear if NVIDIA would release a reference, low-profile GT 440 card in the future.</p>
<h4>GeForce GT 440 OEM 1.5 GB &#8211; 3 GB</h4>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-41198" href="http://www.jagatreview.com/2011/02/review-nvidia-geforce-gt-440-vga-directx-11-entry-level-terkencang/geforce_gt_440_3qtr_med/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-41198" title="geforce_gt_440_3qtr_med" src="http://www.jagatreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/geforce_gt_440_3qtr_med.png" alt="" width="551" height="346" /></a><br />
Finally, we have the <strong>GT 440 OEM 1.5 GB-3 GB. </strong>. Amongst other GT 440 variants, these cards are perhaps the most interesting. They have already been introduced last October, months before the official announcement of GeForce GT 440 itself. This could cause some confusions. Even more confusing is the fact that GT 440 OEM is far superior compared to the “plain” GT 440. Not only does it come equipped with up to 3 GB of on board memory (an obvious overkill for a card of its class), the GT 440 is also armed with more numerous <strong>stream processors (144, versus 96 on the “plain” GT 440)</strong> and <strong>ROPs (24). </strong> That should make GT 440 OEM the fastest entry level card from NVIDIA that doesn’t need to be plugged to an extra power cable to function. Too bad the GT 440 OEM is going to be available for the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) market only. It is unlikely that end consumers will be able to purchase them separately.</p>
<h2>Features</h2>
<p>Feature wise, the GT 440 is virtually identical with the GT 430. Therefore, there is no new feature that can be found on this particular graphics card series. The features themselves are as follows:</p>

<p>Because of their similar feature sets, both the GT 430 and GT 440 are intended to fill the same, HTPC/ Mini PC-oriented market segment, only the latter will be replacing the former. Although it is clearly not primarily intended for gaming purposes, according to the information at NVIDIA’s website, users of GT 440 should still be able to play DirectX 11 games under reasonable graphics settings. Let us proceed to the benchmarks to see if that is really the case!</p>

<p>Produk  yang akan kami uji pada review kali ini adalah graphics card  dari salah satu produsen yang berpusat di negeri tirai bambu Cina, Axle. Apabila Anda mengenal dan pernah menggunakan produk graphics card dari Axle ini, tentu Anda mengetahui bahwa produk dari Axle ini memiliki <em>value </em>yang sangat menarik dibandingkan produk dari vendor lain pada graphics card yang sejenis. Axle sendiri lebih memilih untuk merilis dan memasarkan produknya untuk segmen entry-level hingga mainstream saja. Kemungkinan, strategi ini diambil karena memang pangsa pasar terbesar ada pada wilayah tersebut.</p>
<p>Axle memberikan kesempatan kepada Tim JagatReview dengan mengirimkan salah satu sample GT 430 untuk diujikan kemampuannya serta meneliti hal apa saja yang ditawarkan Axle dari produk ini. Axle memberikan nama produk ini GT 430 dengan tambahan gelar &#8220;Classic Edition&#8221;. Sebenarnya, kami sendiri tidak mengetahui maksud dari penamaan yang diberikan Axle tersebut. <p>Ternyata Axle GT 430 Classic Edition ini masih menggunakan Core Clock standar GT 430 yaitu 700 MHz, tetapi sayangnya untuk memory clock Axle justru malah menggunakan clock 700 MHz (1400 MHz efektif) yang berarti lebih rendah dari spesifikasi reference NVIDIA yaitu 800-900 MHz (1600-1800 MHz efektif). Entah mengapa Axle menggunakan memory clock yang lebih rendah, apakah mungkin untuk mengurangi <em>cost </em>produksi sehingga produk ini bisa menjadi lebih <em>value </em>lagi? Semoga saja tidak terlalu berimbas pada penurunan performa yang terlalu jauh. Sebelum melihat hasil pengujian, mari kita lihat terlebih dahulu penampilan Axle GT 430 ini pada galeri berikut.</p>

<p>Perhaps the word “Fermi” has been associated with expensive, space-hogging, super-fast, high-end, DirectX 11 graphics cards. True, the Fermi family of GPU has been rather successful in stealing some pieces of the cake off its main rival in higher end market, but what about the entry level down below? NVIDIA sure doesn’t want to lose their footing on this lucrative segment of the market, and thus they have released the GeForce GTS 430 to open up the way for Fermi in the low-end positions.</p>
<p>Prior to the release of GeForce GTS 430, the most affordable Fermi derivative was the GeForce GTS 450, which currently retails for around US$ 150. The GTS 430, codenamed GF 108, is priced much lower than that at just US$ 79. We received our first sample from Digital Alliance (DA). They use the same OEM boards with Palit, and as such, their products share similar characteristics with Palit’s graphics cards. Even our sample product still bears Palit’s sticker, although the package box has been changed to DA’s.</p>

<p>Digital Alliance follows NVIDIA’s reference standard for their GeForce GT 430. Judging from its technical specification, we believe it goes head to head with the AMD Radeon HD 5550 or HD 5570.</p>

<p>Digital Alliance adalah produk GT 430 (GF108) pertama yang datang ke Lab Jagatreview. Digital Alliance menggunakan OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) yang sama dari Palit. Jadi, jangan heran apabila Anda melihat banyak persamaan antara kedua produk graphics card tersebut. <p>Have you read our previous article on the <a href="http://www.jagatreview.com/2010/10/nvidia-gt-425m-%e2%80%93-fermi-goes-mobile/">GeForce GT 425M</a>? In that article, we discussed about how this particular mobile graphics chip could still run DirectX 11-based games, albeit with a little –if not severe- compromise on the image quality part. There was no problem with DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 gaming, but with the upcoming DirectX 11-enabled titles, wouldn’t you expect something better?</p>
<p>We’re not satisfied with the GT 425M’s standard performance either, so we tried to improve it a bit. The easiest way of doing this is by applying some degree of overclocking, and that’s precisely what we did. Before we begin describing the steps and the resulting speed increase, let’s take a look at the tech specs first.</p>

<p>Not too long ago, NVIDIA announced yet another addition to their renowned Fermi family of GPUs, the GeForce GT 430. While the GT 425M is obviously a mobile graphics solution, it shares a similar set of features with the GT 430. The only difference between these two GPUs is their rated frequencies, with the GT 425 clocked slightly lower than its desktop cousin. So, in theory, by simply raising GT 425M’s clockspeed, we should be able to increase its performance to match GT 430’s.</p>
