Gigabyte Open Overclocking Championship 2010 – Summary
So, how did they fare? Upon time completion, contestants were called once again to the stage. There’s no telling who the winner might be. We truly hoped for someone from Indonesia to step up as one of the three champions and, if possible, represent his country in the grand final at Taiwan. Here is a shot of the contestants on stage.
Ekky, one of the two Indonesian finalists, shrugged his way to the third (2nd runner up) position, earning a US$ 2.000 worth of prize money. The second position (1st runner up) was claimed by Shahriar Barani from the Middle East. He earned US$ 2.500 of prize money. Barani also managed to set a new world record for the MAXXMEM benchmarking soft ware.
Who was the champion? We held our breath… fingers crossed… Luckily, it was not too long before they finally announced it. One of our fellow Jagat Review reporters had his face turned blue already… It’s Paizol Maddusah from Thailand! Aside from winning US$ 3.000 worth of money, Paizol would be representing the Asia-Africa region in the GOOC 2010 Grand Final at Taipei. He would be going with Shahriar, the first runner-up from this Asia-Africa final.
Alva, on the other hand, had to settle somewhere along the top-ten position. He had some trouble with the motherboard, but was satisfied with the result nonetheless.
