Unboxed: MSI N460GTX HAWK
We heard the rumors sometime ago, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460-based graphics card whose GPU can be overclocked to 1 GHz, thanks to its advanced design and quality construction. Now, the card is here on our benching table, ready for the test. But first, let’s see how it looks like shall we? Here it is, the MSI N460GTX HAWK.
Looking at the box, we can see that it is being sold under a familiar air force theme, just like the other cards in the HAWK series. The rather large picture of a stealth fighter was displayed on the front side.
One of MSI’s latest graphics card features, the Triple Overvoltage, is implemented in this card’s design. Using the included MSI Afterburner 2.0 software, users can adjust voltage setting on the GPU, memory, and PLL.
As with any other graphics card, the backside of the box displays some technical specification, written in multiple languages.
And… here’s the MSI N460GTX HAWK itself. MSI uses the 1 GB variant of GeForce GTX 460 as a base model for this series. The twin Frozr II heatsink fan is still entrusted with the task of cooling this latest HAWK graphics card. It’s a tad bigger compared to the one fitted on the Radeon HD 5770 HAWK though.
