Apple’s Back to the Mac Event, October 20

Apple just sent invitations to a media event labeled “Back to the Mac” for next Wednesday, October 20 in Apple’s own campus. Given that they’ve just spent the past year focusing on iOS with version 4.2 coming in November, it’s a bit of a surprise that they’re doing this event for Mac OS X.
Looks like Apple is reminding people that they still make traditional computers with a full blown OS, not just iPhones and iPads. This seems to be one of the most straightforward invitations that Apple has ever produced, leaving very little speculation (if at all) as to what they will be talking about.
Mac OS X 10.6 or Snow Leopard has only been around for over a year so it’s unlikely that they will announce a release for 10.7 but we might see an early preview of it. After all, Apple is still working on Snow Leopard version 10.6.5.
Finally, something that’s not about the iOS, iPhone, iPad, or other mobile iDevices. Can’t wait to see what’s coming.
