MSI N480GTX Lightning Preview – The Best Just Got Better
Two 8-pin connectors and an additional 6-pin connector are used to supply power to the N480GTX Lightning. The 8-pin connectors feed the GPU chip, while the extra 6-pin connector routes power directly to the memory chips via a dedicated power line. Together, they draw an enormous amount of electricity from the PSU.
You will find three V-Check Points near the power connectors. You can connect each of these to your multimeter to measure out the voltage supplied to the GPU, PLL, and memory with pinpoint precision.
As mentioned before, the N480GTX Lighting has two BIOS chips. You can activate either one by flipping this switch.
Two SLI connectors on the upper part can be used to combine this graphics card with an identical pair(s) and deploy them in 2-way, 3-way, or 4-way SLI mode.
To connect your display, you can choose between the two DVI ports, one HDMI port, and one Display Port connector on the back of the graphics card.
