Now, let’s take look at what lies beneath the massive cooler!


These pictures show the heat sink assembly of the GTX 590.




A vapor chamber heat sink sits on top of each GPU, while the memory chips are in contact with a separate, black heat sink.

The above picture shows GTX 590’s component layout as seen from the front. The green chip in the middle of the board is an NF 200 chip. NVIDIA uses a 12-layer PCB with 2 OZ copper to maximize heat dissipation and strengthen the board’s overall construction.

On the back side, there are two heat-sink metal plates attached to the rear of each GPU. Apparently, these are meant to absorb heat from the GPUs.
