The Days of Axis International Jazz Festival 2011
As the night falls, Fariz RM, the artist who had not appeared in public for a while, showed up dressed in a red shirt to play the audience a number of his popular late 1980s hits such as Nada Kasih, Sungguh, Sakura, Barcelona, Susi Belel, Penari, and many more. Assisted by Barry Likumahuwa and Erwin Gutawa BigBand, the ever-cheerful Fariz gave off spectacular performance. During his mini concert, Fariz also mentioned his plan of returning to the music world by launching a new single.

At another, smaller stage, a Dutch singer of Maluku descent grabbed the crowd’s attention. Danjil is a young musician who plays jazz-rock, RnB, dan Soul. This was his fourth appearance in the Java Jazz Festival, and it appears that many among the audience have acknowledged and grown to like his songs. There was a round of roaring applause when Danjil played the Rame-rame song and another one called the Sio Nona which he wrote himself.

By around 8 pm, there was already a long line of visitors in front of the Axis Hall. They were expecting George Benson’s second performance! The day before, Benson played the songs of Nat King Coles. This time, he would be dedicating his best efforts to perform his best music: The Greatest Hits of George Benson.
