Review-Intel 510 Series SSD: Reaching Extraordinary Speed with SATA III!
Test Platform
Here’s a list of the hardware components used as our test platform:

For comparison purposes, we brought along the Patriot Inferno SSD (based on the famed Sandforce controller) and the 25 nm, 320-GB SSD from Intel.
Test Results
HDTune

These results are rather impressive. HD Tune shows that the Series 510 SSD is way ahead of the competition. It offers substantial transfer speed improvement over the SATA-II SSDs in our test.
I/O Meter

Intel’s claim appears to be correct, according to I/O Meter. Series 510’s sequential read performance reaches to as high as 500 MB/s. However, this SSD falls short in random read/ write performance, where it fails to keep up with the other Intel SSD, which still uses the older SATA II interface.
Crystal Disk Mark

We obtained another positive confirmation of Intel’s claim from CrystalDisk Mark. When it comes to writing and reading large files, nothing can get close to this SATA-III SSD.
