Test Platform

For comparison purposes, we brought along a high-speed (for its kind) 3 TB hard drive. Additionally, results from the RevoDrive are also included in the final charts.

Test Results

Within each of the result graphs, you will find either an arrow pointing to the right, or an arrow pointing to the left. An arrow to the right means, for that particular benchmark, higher scores represent better result, while an arrow to the left means that lower score is better.

HDTune

In this test, Vertex 3 manages to beat the two comparisons, including the RevoDrive that is essentially two SandForce SF-1200 SSD drives joined together in RAID-0 configuration.

I/O Meter

The results are slightly different here. I/O Meter seems to favor the RevoDrive over the Vertex 3.

Crystal Disk Mark

Vertex 3 demonstrated excellent random read/ write performance in Crystal Disk Mark. The scores are roughly better than the RevoDrive’s. Both SSDs managed to outperform the conventional hard drive by a large margin, of course.
