[PR] StyleMe Pro: the first company to “industrialise” augmented reality is created
With the launch of StyleMe Pro Hairstyler, augmented reality changes tack as application becomes a product specifically for the consumer market.

The limits of augmented reality are shifting quickly. It has transformed from a system that has guaranteed the “wow” effect over recent years and has been indispensable to the world of non-conventional marketing, advertising and video games especially in the property sector, into a technological product tout court.
StyleMe Pro Hairstyler is the innovative device that provides a 3D and real time view of the effect a new hairstyle will have on your face. The aim, on one hand, is to facilitate the job of the hairdresser who would like to propose a new look to the client and, on the other hand, it provides the user sitting in the salon chair with reassurance of their choice.
StyleMe Pro Hairstyler was created through collaboration between StyleMe Pro, a company specialising in virtual simulation solutions for the beauty sector, and Seac02, a Italy-based world leader in 3D visualisation and augmented reality. The device is a virtual mirror that films the face of the person sitting opposite it in real time, thus allowing them to select and try over a million styles. By selecting the cut and colour options from the two separate libraries, users can put together their own look and see the effect that it has on their faces before going ahead with the actual change.
StyleMe Pro Hairstyler represents the most technologically advanced stage of the “try it on in real time” applications: Seac02 has created a software based on a proprietary rendering engine to represent the head of hair, implementing shaders specifically for selective colouring of the hair to make the “styling” object especially realistic. Real time face-tracking ensures the “mirror” effect and enables the various visualisation points assumed by the user to be managed, while he or she moves opposite the system. This allows a particular likeness to be achieved: as if the hair style was actually applied to the face of the user.
Simultaneously, the StyleMe Pro worked in collaboration with Seac02 to develop an industrial pipe-line for devising the libraries of cuts and colours in 3D. Production times are therefore shortened notably and updating new “fashion” collections software becomes more affordable, to the point that the individual hairstylist can order their own cuts to “virtualize”. It also changes the approach to generating content to produce under the form of augmented reality: anyone can make a request to insert models and endorse the options by promoting their own style.
StyleMe Pro Hairstyler is available to all hairdressers through a subscription system that allows them to access the service and the libraries which update the spring/summer and autumn/winter collections.
