Final Notice for .Mac Homepage Users

MobileMe members received an email on Friday telling them that the old .Mac Homepage service will completely shut down on November 8. Apple replaced .Mac service with MobileMe a while ago and retired or replaced the old features with a different set of web apps.
The HomePage application was one of those retired by Apple last year after debuting a decade ago as part of iTools but it had allowed sites created using the app to remain online without the ability to add or edit them.
On 8 November, these sites will finally be removed, but their contents will remain available on each member’s iDisks so they can still be accessible. Sites published using iWeb will not be affected.
Apple is recommending MobileMe Gallery to host photos and videos and use iWeb to publish websites in place of the old HomePage. If you haven’t transitioned your old sites to the new services, this is as good time as any to start.
