[PR] MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II Graphics Card

The Number One Choice for Superior Cooling and Silent Performance Noise Level 19.6dB Lower than Reference Model, Core Temperature 6°C Cooler

Taipei, Taiwan — MSI, the world-renowned graphics card and motherboard manufacturer, officially releases the latest AMD Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr II graphics card.  Based on AMD’s next-generation Cayman GPU core utilizing the 40 nm manufacturing process, the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II graphics card comes with 2GB GDDR5 of high-capacity, high-speed video memory. The card is equipped with the highly acclaimed Twin Frozr II thermal design, delivering performance that not only meets the needs of hard-core gamers, but also improves thermal and acoustic characteristics.  Under full-speed operation, the Twin Frozr II significantly reduces the amount of noise by 19.6dB and also reduces core temperatures by 6°C when compared to the reference design.  Additionally, the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II supports AMD Eyefinity multi-screen output technology and stereoscopic 3D capability to provide an even richer visual experience.  For a limited time, purchases of either the specially-marked 3DMark 11 package or the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II with 3DMark11 sticker include a free serial number for the Advanced Edition of 3DMark11!  Choosing MSI allows the most complete DirectX 11 graphics experience on the market today!

Exclusive Twin Frozr II Thermal Design Achieves Optimal Balance between Cooling and Acoustics

The MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II graphics card comes with the advanced Twin Frozr II thermal solution. By using a large surface copper cooling base and high density heat sink, the contact area to the GPU heat spreader is substantially increased.  The two built-in 8cm temperature-controlled PWM fans and five heat-pipes provide the components surrounding the GPU with sufficient air flow and enhanced thermal conductivity, which enhances cooling performance and reduces noise output.  Under full load, the unit is 6°C cooler than the reference thermal design and is up to 19.6dB quieter!  Under normal operating conditions, the noise level of the cad is under 30dB¹!  With its unmatched cooling and acoustics capability, the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II is in a class of its own!

Exclusive Afterburner Software Support Core Voltage Adjustments and Display

The R6950 Twin Frozr II also comes with MSI’s exclusive Afterburner overclocking software for tweaking the graphics card, including real-time adjustment of GPU and memory frequency, advanced fan speed controls, and the ability to store up to five configuration profiles. GPU over-voltage is supported, providing a level of increased performance that breaks through the limitations of the graphics card. Afterburner also provides a real-time display of GPU temperatures and fan speeds so that users can monitor information such as GPU temperature, clock speed, voltage, load level, and fan speed, allowing the user to easily control all aspects of the graphics card.

Support for next-generation 3D format and media transfer interface

The MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II comes equipped with stereoscopic 3D capability and is able to transmit high-quality lossless 7.1-channel TrueHD and DTS-HD audio via DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4a connections. With AMD’s Eyefinity multi-screen technology exclusively available on the graphics card’s DisplayPort outputs, consumers can enjoy the most advanced audio/visual experience and have the ability to output video to four displays with a single card!
